Zinc oxide is a physical blocker and works as soon as you apply it. Since Arc Gentle contains 25% zinc oxide, the amount needed is generally less that with chemical products.
Use a quarter of a teaspoon for your face, and about 1.5 ounces to cover your body. Apply the sunscreen, covering your skin evenly, especially those easy-to-skip areas like your ears, neck, eyelids, and hands.
Arc Gentle is water-resistant for 40 minutes and sweat-resistant. Apply a layer after you towel off or whenever you feel the zinc has been removed.
We are as transparent as possible and only add ingredients to our formula that are necessary. Here is the complete list of ingredients:
Non-nano zinc oxide, 25%w/w
An ingredient obtained from coconut that helps the skin to repair itself.
A natural moisturizer that’s also in our skin.
Natural fatty acids
Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil
Jojoba is a drought-resistant evergreen shrub native to South-western North America. It's known and grown for jojoba oil, the golden yellow liquid coming from the seeds (about 50% of the weight of the seeds will be oil). Jojoba oil moisturizes the skin and makes it soft and supple.
A plant based ingredient that helps water to mix with oil.
Cera alba (White Bees Wax)
It's a natural material produced by honey bees to build their honeycomb.
Helps to distribute the pigments nicely and evenly on the skin.
It's a little helper ingredient coming from corn, rice or potato starch that can help to keep skin mat (absorbent), to stabilise emulsions, and to keep the product together (binding).
A liquid fatty acid great for the stabilization of mineral particles in oils.
Is a good emulsifier choice for stable water-resistant sunscreen formulas.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
A common stabiliser in cosmetic products.
Propanediol is a natural alternative for the often used and often bad-mouthed propylene glycol. It's produced sustainably from corn sugar and it's Ecocert approved. It's quite a multi-tasker: Can be used to improve skin moisturization, as a solvent, to boost preservative efficacy or to influence the sensory properties of the end formula.
A naturally occurring floral component with a delicate scent that can mask the odor of other raw materials but is not noticeable in the final product. It also has remarkable antimicrobial and preservative boosting abilities.
It’s a handy multi-tasking ingredient that gives the skin a nice, soft feel.
A natural preservative
Sodium chloride is the fancy name of salt. Normal, everyday table salt.
Based on my personal experience.
TLDR: Good (spf 50, no white cast, big bottle, lovely price, did not dry out my skin). Bad (for my taste is just a tiny bit too oily BUT mixture with Australian Gold Botanical sunscreen creates the perfect moisturizing-matte ratio for me).
I heard about this product from a comment section of a Youtube channel Mad about skin.
Basically I was on a physical sunscreen hunt since they have discontinued Make P:rem physical sunscreen lotion - I was devastated about it but then found this.
I would recommend it for people with normal to dry skin type.
I love that it is a big bottle (150ml, ALELUJA we have had enough of those tiny expensive 50ml sunscreens...),a fair price, and European based sunscreen (physical sunscreens from USA are expensive to order into Central Europe).
My main concern was white cast and oiliness.
Even with the right amount (2,5ml) it did not leave a white cast on me (wohoo, I am type 1 of the Fitzpatrick scale though),
and about oiliness it was not as oily as I expected.
I countered the oiliness with mixing Arc Suncare sunscreen with an Australian Gold Botanical - and this mixture is basically my perfect sunscreen - it is moisturizing but not too oily and not too drying (most of matte sunscreen dried out my skin so much that by the end of the day I felt like a Sahara desert) and any remaining hints of a white cast are countered by Australian Gold tint (gotta love those iron oxides).
Thank you Italy, much love from Slovenia :)

Arc Gentle 150ml
I just love this sunscreen. It’s not sticky like most brands.
The formulation is extremely gentle on the skin, and protects from the sun perfectly. My pigmentation has actually gone down since beginning of use. However, the application is far from simple, since it leaves a lot of white cast and is very oily\shiny. I deal with it by applying makeup on top to neutralize the white cast, and a translucent powder to neutralize the extreme shine. But even though it's not a "slap on and forget" type of sunscreen- I love it and it is my go to sunscreen. Price point and quantity are also a big plus. But I do wish "arc" will make a tinted version of this, and maybe a bit more matte.
